In Hip Hop History Today “Eminem Drops His Single My Name Is” Jan 25, 1999

“My Name Is” titled on the CD cover as “Hi, My Name Is Slim Shady”, is a song by Eminem released Jan 25,1999. It is the debut single overall from his major label debut album, The Slim Shady LP. The song was ranked at #26 on “VH1’s 100 Greatest Songs of the 90’s”. “My Name Is” also was ranked #6 on Q Magazine’s “1001 Best Songs Ever”. The recording garnered Eminem his first Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance at the 42nd Grammy Awards in 2000.
