We all know burgers as a piece of beef with some lettuce, tomatoes maybe some onions and mayo on the top, but a chef in Chelsea, England has come up with a burger that will set you back a whopping $1,650. Chris Large, the head chef at the restaurant Honky Tonk said the the Glamburger as it is nicknamed was created as a publicity stunt. The restaurant wanted to make the best burger with the best ingredients. The burger is made with 220g of Kobe Wagyu Beef and 60g of New Zealand Venison embellished with gold leaf, lobster and caviar. The patty is seasoned with Himalayan salt served with Canadian lobster poached in Iranian saffron and the centre of the burger is black Brie to give it a liquid pocket. On top is bacon, maple syrup and a smoked duck egg covered in gold leaf. As if that wasn’t enough, the bun is seasoned with Japanese Matcha which is a type of powdered green tea and cream mayo coated in, you guessed it, gold leaf. Finally the dish is garnished with a mango and champagne jus and created white truffle.
